Fonts not in Windows 7 Fonts appearing in System Fonts and unable to delete or find

I've used Suitcase Fusion on a Windows 7 machine for a number of years now and for the most part it works well. Recently our marketing dept decided to clean house and syn our fonts better, so I've been trying to clean up my Font vault (Font Library) and System Fonts libraries. (And as a dept, we've created a master fonts collection)

  • I started by updating Suitcase to the latest, 17.2.3 and backed up my vault
  • Then I followed Extensis procedure for parring down the Windows Fonts to only those the system needs (ie the ones you can't delete)
  • And here is where I'm hitting my problem. There are numerous fonts in the Suitcase's System Fonts that are not in the Windows/Fonts... And they are not activated and do not have the lock on, like the real sys fonts that also appear in Windows/Fonts And when I right click them and choose Show in Explorer it just takes me to the Windows/Fonts folder...but doesn't actually show the font. Also when right-clicked the Delete from Library is greyed out...so I can't get rid of them. Now I can activate/deactivate them and use them... so they're somewhere. I want to get rid of them; get them out of my System Fonts and if I want them back again, put them in the Font Library...

Has anyone experienced this? Can anyone offer a solution? Or should I go straight to extensis tech support? Thanks

Font previews alphabetically backwards

In other words the font I see at the top of the Previews list is Zebrawood and I have to scroll all the way down to the bottom to see my first font, Aachen. Looked in preferences, did several Google searches and I can't find anything remotely related to this subject. I'm hoping there's a simple solution that I'm overlooking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Driving me nuts!

Suitcase adds duplicate fonts, that are then labeled "missing"

Could the missing fonts be if there are special characters in the font name?

Trying to search for missing fonts on my hard drive from within suitcase doesn't work well either. The search box disappears suddenly.

Suitcase Fusion VLA Changes

You’re probably already managing accounts for your Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions this way, so we are confident that this should be a smooth transition for you.

Here is how things will affect owners of an active Fusion ASA. For Fusion VLA customers with a current ASA, you will have free access to Suitcase TeamSync through the end of your ASA period. At the end of those periods, you have the choice to renew TeamSync subscriptions at a reduced cost, or convert your licenses to a standard perpetual license of Suitcase Fusion. Perpetual licenses of Suitcase Fusion are not subscription based, but do not allow multiple users to sync libraries or font sets. Pricing on Suitcase TeamSync subscriptions isn’t available just yet, but will be soon.

These may seem like big changes, but we’ve been listening to feedback about what customers want from their service agreements, and know that this will ultimately benefit the bulk of our users in the end. While this is just a super condensed version of some publicly available information, you can read a more thorough breakdown of the changes at the links below. Portfolio server installation failure

Error 1920.Service Portfolio Server (espdamsvc) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

In the Event Viewer, there are a series of three error events that say:

The Portfolio Server service depends on the Elasticsearch 1.6.0 (PortfolioES) service which failed to start because of the following error:
The operation completed successfully.

Continuous prompt to Group Fonts by Family

umm ... no, I do NOT want to move any fonts. I was NOT clicking and dragging. I am simply clicking on the folder so that I can select it, and then click the Activate button. 9 times out of 10 when simply clicking on a font folder to select it, I get this pop-up message.

Why is Suitcase so touchy? I am NOT trying to move fonts.

Yes, I know I can check the 'Do not show this message again' but that makes things worse - clicking on a font folder now MOVES it into another folder and my font organization goes to hell.

I am running Suitcase 6 (v17.2.3.638929) on Windows 10.

The program is also very slow so half the time I am working in Suitcase I am not sure if I need to repeat my click or wait for it to catch up.

Adobe CC Plugin Compatibility Plan

Fonts on a external drive, How to?

SF 7 compatible with CC(2014) and CC(2015) but not CC?

Compatibility and plugins
